The Hürjet prototype equipped with underwing pylons strengthens indications that Turkish Aerospace Industries is working on an armed version of the Turkish advanced trainer.
The move places the aircraft in a competitive segment already occupied by established models such as South Korea’s FA-50 and Italy’s M-346.
The image, released by aviation photographer Enes Ötken and published on his Instagram page, shows the TUS-A003 prototype during a test flight, already configured for structural and weapons integration evaluations.
The model is expected to receive AESA radars from the MURAD family and Turkish air-to-air missiles, significantly expanding its operational capabilities.

In addition to replacing the Turkish Air Force’s ageing T-38 Talon aircraft, the Hürjet has also secured its first international customer: Spain. The SAETA II programme calls for the acquisition of 30 aircraft and broad participation by Spanish industry in the manufacturing of components and onboard systems.
TAI is also planning a naval version of the jet to operate from the Turkish Navy’s future MUGEM aircraft carrier. The manufacturer says it is already expanding its industrial infrastructure to increase production rates, amid expectations of new military orders in the coming years.
